J Schatz is committed to respecting your privacy. We use the information we collect about you to process orders, and we will not sell or disclose any information that identifies you to a third party. When you place an order, your personal and payment information are kept secure. We use cookies only to record session information, such as your shopping selections while ordering. When you give us an email address while placing an order or in correspondence, we retain it to confirm orders and respond to inquiries. You may join the J Schatz email list to receive periodic email. Telephone numbers given online are used only to contact you about orders placed online.

Security

This site has measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of information under our control. Orders are transmitted over secure connections using encryption, and personal information — including payment details and your sign-in password — is stored encrypted at all times. Payment data is handled by Shopify and encrypted under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Transaction data is retained only as long as necessary to complete your purchase. All payment gateways adhere to PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council.

Returns and Refunds

We want you to be satisfied with your J Schatz purchase. If you are not, please notify us within 5 business days of receipt and return the items undamaged in their original packaging. We will refund your purchase after receipt and inspection. You are responsible only for return shipping and any initial shipping charges incurred. This applies to in-stock items only; all custom-made orders and one-of-a-kind pieces are non-refundable. Our photography and descriptions are designed to portray the items accurately — if you wish, you may FaceTime us or visit the studio and we will show you the quality and finish of the piece firsthand.

Shipping

J Schatz ships domestically with UPS and USPS, and internationally with DHL, UPS, and USPS. Orders ship the next business day; custom-made orders ship within the timeframe noted on their product page. You may ship using any ground, priority, or express service offered. You are responsible for any duties, taxes, and brokerage fees due on international shipments. To ensure safe arrival, each piece is carefully packed in a sturdy box with recyclable, biodegradable cushioning.

Freight and White-Glove Delivery

Larger sculptural works, oversized lighting, and select one-of-a-kind pieces ship by freight with white-glove delivery rather than standard parcel carriers; these pieces are noted on their product page, where shipping is quoted after the order is placed. Once your order is received, we arrange crating, obtain a freight quote based on destination and handling, and contact you with the quote before the work ships. The shipping charge is billed separately from the piece. White-glove service includes delivery to the room of your choice, unpacking, and removal of all packing materials. Please inspect freight deliveries on arrival and note any damage with the carrier before signing.

The names Egg Bird Feeders, Egg Bird Houses, J Schatz, and Wonder-Certified are registered trademarks of J Schatz Inc. Egg Bird Feeders are protected under U.S. Patent #D566,344. Egg Bird Houses are protected under U.S. Patent #D683,081. Hummingbird Feeders are protected under U.S. Patent #D652,175.

Distribution

If you are interested in re-selling J Schatz products at your retail location, please contact us. Unauthorized re-selling violates J Schatz's legal rights. Displaying J Schatz copyrighted material in advertisements is also a violation of J Schatz's rights under the federal Copyright Act.

This website is owned and controlled by J Schatz from its offices within the State of Michigan, United States of America. By accessing this website, both you and J Schatz agree that the statutes and laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of laws, will apply to all matters relating to use of this website. In addition, you agree to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the Circuit Court for the County of Macomb and the United States District Court of Michigan.
