J Schatz Studio

J Schatz Studio makes ceramic lighting, objects, and outdoor work in Detroit. Each design is produced in a limited annual edition, built and finished by hand, and numbered and dated in the studio. The pieces hold two registers at once — glossy, exact, and bright on one side; quieter and earthbound on the other. Selected work is also shown at Take Me Home, the studio's gallery in Detroit.

J Schatz is a studio practice, working in Detroit. The studio accepts commissions at all scales — a single piece in a custom colorway, a new form developed with a collector, a site-specific tile installation, or sculptural lighting for a residence or hospitality interior.

Inquiries are reviewed on a rolling basis; timelines typically range from three to nine months.
